Psychiatrist (Board-Eligible or Board-Certified)
Location: Male Correctional Facility (On-site)
Schedule: Part-time (minimum 2 days per week) or Full-time with
potential for telehealth or cross-facility coverage
Duration: 6-month assignment, with possible extension and potential
for permanent hire
Job Overview:
We are seeking a board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist to
provide psychiatric services to the male population at a
correctional facility. This role involves both direct patient care
and the potential for telehealth coverage across multiple
facilities. The position is ideal for candidates seeking a flexible
work schedule with the possibility of extending or transitioning to
a permanent role.
The selected psychiatrist will meet with 12-16 patients per 8-hour
shift, conducting evaluations, medication management, and providing
necessary treatment within the correctional setting. The role
requires a professional level of care with a focus on therapeutic
management in a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Patient Care: Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic
assessments, and treatment for male patients at the facility.
Services will include medication management, therapy, and crisis
intervention as needed.
Patient Load: Meet with 12-16 patients per 8-hour shift, providing
quality psychiatric services tailored to individual patient
needs.
Telehealth Coverage (for full-time candidates): The option to
provide telehealth services to other facilities will be available
for full-time psychiatrists.
Collaboration: Work closely with the medical team and correctional
facility staff to develop treatment plans and address the
psychiatric needs of the population.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and
documentation in compliance with facility standards and
regulations.
Schedule:
Part-time: A minimum of 2 days per week on-site. Start/end times
are flexible within weekdays (no nights, weekends, or
holidays).
Full-time: Additional hours may be allocated for telehealth
coverage across other facilities or for on-site services at a
nearby male correctional facility.
Flexible Hours: The exact start and end times can be adjusted based
on the facility's needs.
Duration:
The assignment is projected to last 6 months with the potential for
an extension based on performance and mutual agreement.
This assignment could lead to a permanent position.
Required Qualifications:
Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Psychiatrist with valid
certification in Psychiatry.
Ohio Medical License (must be attached with application).
CPR Certification at the healthcare-professional level (must be
attached with application).
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification (must be
attached with application).
ODRC Packet: Must include relevant documents as specified,
including the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction
(ODRC) packet.
TB Test: Must be within 30 days of application.
Drug Screen: Must be completed within 48 hours of accepting the
offer (NDOT 9-panel drug test with eCOC-3.0).
Screening Process:
All required documents must be submitted with the initial
application.
Drug screen and TB test must be completed prior to starting the
assignment.
Security & Facility Requirements:
No cell phones, tobacco, vapes, or canned items are permitted in
the facility.
Food and drinks must be in clear, see-through containers.
Only one gallon of water is allowed per person into the
facility.
The facility operates with strict security procedures, and all
visitors must pass through a metal detector.
Additional Information:
Both a phone interview and an on-site meeting/tour will be required
before the candidate is officially selected.
Submissions must include a resume and cover letter, with all
required certifications and documents.
