Dedicated yard switchers play a critical role in our customer's transportation needs by ensuring the timely movement of trailers in and out of the docks on-site at the customer's location. Unlike some positions, this one gives you a better idea of the number of hours each week holds, which means you'll have a better idea of what to expect in every paycheck. And because you know your customers and their typical freight load, you'll never be surprised or slowed down by unusual shipments.

• Competitive pay:
• Average earnings of $1,425 per week, equating to $74,100 annually
• Starting rate of $30 per hour, with overtime pay at $45 per hour for hours worked beyond 40 in a week
• Guaranteed 40 hours a week
• Typical 5-day work week, averaging 45 hours
• Monday - Friday; 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Return home each day.
• This position involves 75% switching and 25% local driving, requiring the movement of flatbed and van trailers on-site at the customer's location, as well as making local deliveries. CDL-A Dedicated Yard Switcher Benefits:

    • Must live within a 75-mile radius
    • Must have 6 months of full-time verifiable tractor-trailer and/or switching experience within the past 3 years
    • Must have Class A CDL
    • Must be 21 years of age or older
    • No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
    • No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
    • No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years
    • No serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with fatality)
    • No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
    • No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years Essential Functions:
      • Open/Close trailer door - force requirement: 46 lbs
      • Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement: 90 lbs
      • Perform pre-trip inspections
      • Drive
      • Regular predictable attendance
      • Frequent bending for placement of wheel chocks
      • Safely enter/exit yard tractor 100+ times per shift
      • Lifting/opening trailer doors
      • Sliding trailer tandems when necessary
      • Safely maneuvering equipment with good backing skills
